Ishihara Shinushi
The visionary and ruthless Crimson Empress who sought to rewrite the laws of the universe. Her dream of absolute equality clashed with humanity's inherent desire for submission, tearing reality asunder.
Ishihara Shinushi
Ishihara Shinushi, also known as the Crimson Empress, is the absolute ruler of the Crimson Empire (Empire of Kaioren). Originating from the desolate lands of Ksar’Zur, she rose to power by overthrowing the Old Empire, establishing a meritocratic magocracy where magic is the ultimate authority. Ishihara is a figure of immense power and polarizing morality; she acts as the host for the Kaishin of the Crimson Empress, a cosmic force representing absolute hegemony and transformation.
She is the primary driving force behind the geopolitics of the continent, aiming to unite the world under her banner not for mere conquest, but to prepare for a war against the Gods themselves to fix the fundamental flaw of the world.
Personality
Ishihara is defined by her unwavering conviction and boundless ambition. She views the current state of the world—where the weak suffer and the Gods remain indifferent—as an error. Her ultimate dream is to create a world where “everyone is born a mage,” thereby eliminating the concept of weakness and inequality.
She possesses a “Savior Complex,” believing that only her iron fist can save civilization from stagnation and divine tyranny. To her enemies, she is a terrifying tyrant who crushes opposition without mercy. To her followers, she is a benevolent goddess who grants power and purpose.
Despite her grandiose goals, she values loyalty and her “collection” of unique individuals. She shares a deep, almost familial bond with her shadow, Yato Fujiguro, and maintains a complex dynamic with her subordinates like Iris (formerly Ren) and Nozomi. She respects strength and will often spare enemies if they agree to serve her purpose, viewing talent as a resource that should not be wasted.
Abilities
[!IMPORTANT] The Kaishin of the Crimson Empress Ishihara wields one of the primal forces of the universe. Her power allows her to overwhelm magical defenses, manipulate reality on a local scale, and transform into her Battle Form and True Form, drastically increasing her physical and magical capabilities.
Crimson Seal: She can bind individuals to her will via a magical contract sealed with blood. This ensures absolute loyalty and prevents betrayal (used on Torin, Iris, and attempted on others).
Power Assimilation: Ishihara has the unique ability to absorb the power and essence of defeated foes, adding their strength to her own. She notably absorbed the Vampire Regalia from Astra Lucarion, the essence of the Dwarf Mage Torin, and later the essence of Gods.
Role in the Story
The Rise of the Crimson Empire
Ishihara initiated a civil war within the Empire of Kaioren, rebranding it as the Crimson Empire. During the brutal Siege of Nisoria, her forces crushed the last major resistance of the Old Empire led by General Verdan and the warrior Ren (who would later become Iris). She attempted to recruit the dwarf mage Torin, but ultimately executed him publicly in the capital and absorbed his magical potential when he refused to submit fully. She also successfully turned Hentaiji, a member of the Hero Party, to her side by appealing to his desires and offering him true power, creating a rift in the Hero Party.
Expansion and Consolidation
Recognizing the threat of the Vampire Clans, Ishihara launched a campaign to subjugate them. She orchestrated the downfall of Astra Valseria Lucarion, the leader of the most powerful vampire clan. By absorbing Astra’s power, Ishihara gained vampiric traits and authority over the night, integrating vampires into her Imperial Army under the command of Yui Amaya.
During the Demon Invasion, she proved to be the world’s defender, crushing the invasion force in Kaioren and later leading a counter-offensive into Hell itself. She enslaved the succubus Shino’ah, forcing demonkind to serve the Empire’s interests.
The Divine Crisis
During the Lonvar Summit, Ishihara attempted to unify the continent’s leaders against the looming threat of the Gods. However, the intervention of Zariel (The Emperor of Self) and the subsequent arrival of the Angelic Legions forced her hand.
Ishihara led the charge into the Divine Dimension. Alongside her loyal shadow Yato, the defected hero Hentaiji, and the reluctant Queen Elysia Ravel, she fought against the Seraphim and the Gods themselves.
The Battle for Genesis
In the final confrontation, Ishihara fought the Supreme God Al’Taras and the chaotic entity Zariel. Realizing she could not win with her power alone, she accepted the ultimate sacrifice of Yato Fujiguro, who acted as a conduit to channel the power of multiple Kaishins into her body.
Ascending to a state of True Goddess, she defeated Al’Taras and Zariel, absorbing their essence. Standing at the precipice of absolute power, she prepared to rewrite the universe to fulfill her dream: a world where everyone is a mage, free from weakness.
However, in that moment of creation, she was confronted by the true nature of humanity. While her desire was freedom and equality, the collective soul of humanity screamed for something else: they craved an idol, a master, a God to worship. They desired submission, not equality.
[!WARNING] The Universal Split Torn between her own benevolent dream and the horrific reality of human nature, Ishihara’s soul fractured. The universe could not contain two contradictory absolutes.
A cataclysmic explosion tore reality in two, creating separate timelines/universes:
- The Aspect of the Dream: An entity embodying Ishihara’s original wish for equality and benevolence.
- The Aspect of Humanity’s Desire: An entity embodying the dark truth that people yearn to be ruled—a tyrannical, malevolent Goddess born from the need for submission.
This event ended the current era, plunging the world into darkness before the birth of the new, divided history.

Crimson Age
In the primary canon of World B, Ishihara emerged not as a savior, but as a malicious and seductive totalitarian deity. Having fully embraced her role as the goddess born from humanity’s craving for submission, she has become the ultimate authority across reality.
The Cosmic Sovereign
Following the Battle for Genesis, Ishihara cleverly consumed the primordial forces of the universe, effectively becoming one with reality itself. In this timeline, she is the universe. While she possesses absolute power, she rarely interferes directly in the lives of mortals. Having grown to understand the late Supreme God Al’Taras, she now finds amusement in watching humanity’s struggles from her divine throne, treating the world as her personal theater of entertainment.
The Divine Guard
To enforce her will across the various planes of existence, she established the Divine Guard. This elite organization operates on her commands, deciding the fate of entire worlds. They typically intervene in mortal affairs only once every millennium, or whenever the Goddess finds a situation particularly noteworthy or necessary to address.
The Empire of the Goddess
The Crimson Empire (Kaioren) has been transformed into a global theocracy where Ishihara is worshipped as the one and only Goddess. In this reality, the “Crimson Revolution” never happened; instead, Ishihara rewrote history so that the Empire was always “Crimson.”
Her treatment of the former Hero Party was particularly cruel; she used her divine power to break them and subjected them to unspeakable fates that remain a dark secret of the era. Her closest associates, such as Nozomi and Iris, have been elevated to the status of gods or ascended beings, serving as her primary lieutenants in the management of the multiverse.
Multiversal Hegemony
The “Evil” Ishihara has successfully consumed almost every other universe within the multiverse. Only one timeline remains—the one ruled by the “Good” Ishihara (The Aspect of the Dream)—which continues to defend itself against her encroaching darkness.
To ensure her eternal reign and avoid the fate of Al’Taras, she has systematically suppressed and weakened all Kaishins, preventing any other entity from ever rising to challenge her throne. Despite her nearly total control, she remains obsessed with finding Zariel, the Emperor of Self, who managed to escape her grasp during the cataclysm and remains the only loose thread in her perfect reality. Her ultimate goal is nothing less than the absolute, undisputed control of all reality everywhere.
