Nozomi Kagura

A former member of the Hero Party turned international terrorist. A hedonistic illusionist who serves the Crimson Empress for the sake of chaos and pleasure.

Nozomi Kagura

Nozomi Kagura is a powerful mage and a former member of the renowned Hero Party. Disillusioned by the restrictive code of the heroes and seeking unbridled freedom, she defected and became a wanted international terrorist. She eventually pledged allegiance to Ishihara Shinushi, becoming one of the Crimson Empire’s top enforcers and a member of the Imperial Magic Council.

She is known for her sadistic playfulness, her mastery of illusions, and her obsession with “having fun” regardless of the cost to others. She acts as a foil to her former teammates, particularly Kaylen (Kyle) and Joe.

Personality

Nozomi is the embodiment of chaotic hedonism. She treats war, torture, and politics as games designed for her entertainment. She frequently adopts a cutesy, airheaded persona (“I’m just a silly girl, hihi”), which masks a sharp intellect and a cruel streak.

She is openly flirtatious and predatory, often expressing desires to “drain” men or turn people into pets. She has a particular fixation on Yui Amaya, whom she constantly teases and hits on, and she holds a grudge against Joe (the Hero) for rejecting her in the past. Despite her chaotic nature, she is loyal to Ishihara, believing that the Empress’s new world order will provide the ultimate freedom for mages.

Abilities

[!IMPORTANT] Illusion Magic: Nozomi is a master of deceit. She can create realistic clones, alter her appearance, and trap enemies in sensory hallucinations. She famously used these tricks to escape the Hero Party in the past.

Energy Drain: She possesses the ability to drain the life force and magical energy from others, often framing it in sexual innuendos.

High-Level Combat Magic: Despite her playful demeanor, she can go toe-to-toe with members of the Hero Party, using powerful offensive spells and defensive barriers.

Role in the Story

The Empire Civil War

Nozomi resurfaced during the Siege of Caldenos and the battle for Kaioren. She fought against her former allies, Kaylen and Joe, taunting them throughout the conflict.

  • She played a crucial role in breaking the spirit of the dwarf mage Torin, mocking him before his eventual execution by Ishihara.
  • She was instrumental in corrupting Hentaiji, convincing the disgruntled hero to defect to the Crimson Empire by promising him power and women (alongside Iris).

The Vampire Subjugation (Lurmira)

Nozomi accompanied Ishihara and the team to the diplomatic summit in Lurmira to trap the Lucarion Clan.

  • She participated in the ambush against Astra Lucarion.
  • After the battle, she received Orell Lucarion (Astra’s son) as a “pet” from Monessa. She took great pleasure in keeping the former vampire noble on a leash, treating him as a dog to humiliate him.

The Demon Invasion

During the invasion of demons into the human realm, Nozomi fought alongside the Imperial forces. While she did not take the leading role in defeating the Succubus Shino’ah (a feat attributed to Yui and Ishihara), she reveled in the chaos, using the opportunity to torment enemies and support the Empire’s agenda.

The Divine Crisis

Nozomi joined Ishihara’s strike team in the invasion of the Divine Dimension.

  • She fought against the Angelic Legions and the Gods.
  • She famously taunted the God of Justice, Daraion, and witnessed the battles between the Kaishins and the Supreme God Al’Taras.
  • She was pulled into Selizara’s pocket dimension but survived.
  • In the end, she supported Ishihara’s decision to rewrite the universe, eager to see what kind of chaotic fun a world of absolute magic would bring.

Crimson Age

In the canonical World B established after the Universal Split, Nozomi has ascended to a position of unprecedented power as one of the closest confidants of the Goddess Ishihara.

The Divine Emissary

Within this era, Nozomi has been elevated to an ascended state, becoming one of the most powerful entities in existence. She serves as a primary link between the divine and mortal realms, being one of the few beings who possesses the authority and power to freely traverse all planes of reality, including the plane inhabited by common mortals.

Overseer of the Empire

Nozomi oversees the management and operations of the global theocracy that is the Crimson Empire. While she holds significant administrative responsibility, she remains true to her hedonistic roots, often using her trips to the mortal plane as an excuse to “have fun” and indulge in her sadistic whims. In this setting, she is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous and influential figures in the multiverse, acting as the playful but lethal hand of the Goddess.
