Monessa Lucarion
The erratic and sadistic daughter of the Lucarion Clan who betrayed her kin for amusement, serving the Crimson Empire as a chaotic enforcer during the Demon Invasion and Divine Crisis.
Monessa Lucarion
Monessa Lucarion is a pureblood vampire from the Lucarion Clan, formerly the most powerful vampire lineage on the continent. She is the daughter of Astra Valseria Lucarion and the younger sister of Orell. Unlike her family, who prioritized dominance and tradition, Monessa acts on whimsy, twisted affection, and a deep-seated grudge against her brother.
Following the fall of her clan at the hands of Ishihara Shinushi, Monessa willingly defected to the Crimson Empire, joining the special operations unit (KARNOMORTA). She is characterized by her playful cruelty, often treating enemies as “toys” and seeking to turn people into “pets” (Thralls).
Personality
Monessa presents a facade of a bubbly, slightly airheaded, and affectionate young girl. She frequently giggles, speaks in a cutesy tone, and clings to people she finds interesting (especially Yui Amaya).
However, beneath this exterior lies a deeply sadomasochistic and psychopathic nature. She holds a long-standing hatred for her brother Orell, who bullied her in childhood. Her revenge—enslaving him mentally and physically, putting him on a leash like a dog, and gifting him to others—demonstrates the extremity of her vindictiveness. She thrives on chaos and often treats war zones as playgrounds.
Abilities
[!IMPORTANT] High Vampire Physiology: As a pureblood Lucarion, Monessa possesses speed, strength, and regeneration far superior to lesser vampires.
Blood Regalia: Blood Storm: Her unique magical ability allows her to manipulate blood on a massive scale. She can summon tornadoes of blood that shred enemies to pieces instantly. She notably used this to annihilate Giant Orcs in Ravenoll.
Enthrallment (Mental Domination): Monessa specializes in breaking minds. She can turn groups of people into obedient “Thralls” (mindless slaves) with ease, stripping them of their will.
Role in the Story
The Betrayal at Lurmira
During the diplomatic summit in Lurmira, the Lucarion Clan planned to ambush Ishihara Shinushi. While her mother and brother fought the Empress, Monessa effectively switched sides. She led Yui Amaya to the trap but showed no interest in fighting her, instead flirting with her and Sam the Cat. When the clan fell and Astra was absorbed by Ishihara, Monessa gleefully enslaved her defeated brother, Orell, reducing him to a pet.
The Demon Invasion (Cyrell)
When the Demon Invasion began, Monessa was deployed to the autonomous city of Cyrell alongside Lucian Gravemore and Yui Amaya.
- She treated the invasion as a game, hunting for “handsome men” to turn into thralls amidst the chaos.
- She fought against the Succubus Shino’ah. Monessa used her blood magic (“Roast from People”) to boil the blood of Shino’ah’s minions.
- Despite her power, she struggled against the High Demon, eventually assisting Lysander Corvus and Ishihara in suppressing the threat until Shino’ah was enslaved by the Empress.
The Republic Operations (Ravenoll)
Monessa played a key role in the destabilization of the Republic of Sirend.
- She became a contact for Corvin Thorn, providing him with the Scales of Governing Essence—an artifact capable of enslaving wills.
- When Aya Murokama was brutalized by the “Ravens” bandit gang, Monessa intervened out of twisted pity. She mentally broke the bandits responsible, turning them into obedient slaves and gifting them to Aya for revenge.
- When Zariel (The Emperor of Self) summoned Giant Orc-Women to destroy the city, Monessa used her Blood Storm to annihilate the monsters, saving Corvin and Aya.
The Divine Crisis (Tallasia)
As the Divine Crisis began and Angels descended from the sky, Monessa attempted to portal to Yui but accidentally ended up on the continent of Seral.
- There, she met the fugitive Erren and regrouped with Lucian Gravemore.
- She treated the apocalyptic battlefield as a shopping spree, looking for clothes and pets while slaughtering Angelic soldiers who got in her way.
- She aided in the battle to protect Erren and secure the artifact Selendar, fighting alongside Yui (who arrived later) against the Seraphim.
The Final Battle
Monessa was pulled into Selizara’s pocket dimension along with the other heroes and villains. In the final confrontation within the Divine Dimension, she fought on the side of the Crimson Empire against the forces of the Gods. She survived the rewriting of the universe, carried over into the new timeline created by Ishihara’s dream.
Crimson Age
In the canonical World B following the Split, Monessa holds a position of immense prestige and power within the Lucarion Clan. Her life in this reality took a significantly different turn.
The Ascendant Sister
Unlike the previous timeline, Monessa never suffered the abuse or bullying of her brother Orell. Empowered secretly by the Goddess Ishihara, she was able to give a decisive rebuff to any attempts at dominance by her kin. While she is not the official head of the clan—a title still held by her mother, Astra Lucarion—Monessa is regarded as a figure of unique and sinister interest. She is an “evil” vampire in her own right, but her malice manifests differently than Astra’s cold pragmatism; it is fueled by a terrifying, creative whimsy.
The Royal Loyalist
Deeply enamored with the world Ishihara has created, Monessa secretly adores the Crimson Empire. She is whispered to be one of the rare individuals who has retained the memories of the “Old World” and the events that led to the Split. In this era, she acts as a bridge between the high nobility of the vampires and the divine order of the Empress.
A Period of Peace
On a vampire level, the long-standing blood feud between the Amaya Clan and the Lucarion Clan does not exist in this timeline.
