Akemi Igarashi
The exiled heiress of the Igarashi Clan who, lacking mana, forged a pact with the Devil to defy her destiny and challenge the Gods.
Akemi Igarashi
Akemi Igarashi is the former heiress of the renowned Igarashi Clan, a family of elite assassins and martial artists within the Elandorian Tsardom. Born without the ability to use magic in a world where power dictates status, she was abused, disowned by her father Makoto, and replaced by a new heir.
Forced to flee her home, she embarked on a journey of survival that led her to form a pact with a primordial entity known as The Wanderer (The Devil). Akemi represents the resilience of humanity; she is a master of martial arts who bridged the gap between mortals and gods not through divine blessing, but through sheer will and forbidden power.
Personality
Akemi presents a facade of cynical detachment and playful sarcasm. She often jokes in the face of death and treats horrific situations with a cavalier attitude (referring to herself as “trash” or “worthless” to disarm enemies). This defense mechanism hides deep-seated trauma from years of abuse and isolation in a cave during her childhood.
Beneath the mask, she is fiercely adaptable and philosophical. She lives by the mantra of the “branch under the snow”—bending to survive the pressure only to snap back with lethal force when the weight is lifted. She claims to care for nothing, yet she is deeply loyal to Zorian, a deserter she met on her travels. He became her emotional anchor, the only person who treated her as a human being rather than a tool or a failure.
Abilities
[!IMPORTANT] Igarashi-Jutsu: Despite lacking innate mana, Akemi is a grandmaster of her clan’s martial arts. She specializes in hand-to-hand combat, nerve strikes, and utilizing her opponent’s momentum against them. She possesses immense physical agility and endurance.
The Devil’s Mana: After signing a blood contract with The Wanderer, Akemi gained access to a unique, green-black energy. Unlike standard magic, this power functions as an explosive physical augmentation. It allows her strikes to create shockwaves and devastate magically protected opponents.
Medical & Anatomical Mastery: Trained in anatomy to kill, she can also use this knowledge to heal. Her understanding of energy flow (meridians) allowed her to perform the impossible task of stabilizing Ishihara Shinushi’s body when it was overloading with Kaishin energy.
Role in the Story
The Runaway and The Deserter
After being humiliated and exiled by her father, Akemi fled to the lawless town of Arunn. There, she met Zorian, a deserter from the Eastern Elandor army. They formed an unlikely duo, surviving through petty jobs and mutual reliance. Their bond deepened as they navigated a world crumbling under the onset of the Divine Crisis.
The Divine Purge
While traveling, the pair stumbled upon a village occupied by Angelic forces conducting a “purity test.” Zorian was caught lying to the God Librael, but Akemi saved him by taking the blame and feigning madness, appealing to the Gods’ arrogance. Her act of self-sacrifice (which she survived due to divine whimsy) cemented her bond with Zorian.
The Devil’s Pact
Desperate for the strength to survive and reclaim her dignity, Akemi accepted an offer from The Wanderer (a devilish entity opposing the Gods). In his pocket dimension, she signed a blood contract. In exchange for the power to use magic (The Devil’s Mana), she agreed to return home, kill her father, take over the Igarashi Clan, and transform it into a sect loyal to The Wanderer.
Return to the Clan
Akemi returned to her ancestral home to confront her father, Makoto Igarashi, and the arrogant new heir, Usli. The confrontation was less of a calculated victory and more of a chaotic, almost comical accident. During her duel with Makoto, Akemi unleashed the “86 Touches” technique. However, the surge of the Devil’s Mana proved too volatile, causing a massive magical backlash.
The resulting explosion of mana sent Akemi flying backward with uncontrollable force. According to the records of the event, she was thrown “ass-first” directly toward the standbying Usli, landing squarely on his face. The impact, amplified by the remnants of her mana explosion, annihilated him instantly. While Usli was killed on the spot, the duel with her father was cut short by a sudden Angelic invasion. Akemi was only saved from the ensuing chaos by the intervention of her estranged sister, Hikari Igarashi, who used her magic to rescue her.
The Divine Crisis & The End
During the chaotic events of the Divine Crisis, Akemi, along with Zorian and others, was transported to Selizara’s pocket dimension. She suffered harrowing hallucinations of her past trauma but broke free by rejecting the labels forced upon her.
In the final battle within the Divine Dimension, Akemi played a critical support role. When Ishihara Shinushi attempted to absorb the power of multiple Kaishins to defeat the Supreme God Al’Taras, her body began to tear apart. Akemi used her supreme knowledge of acupuncture and energy flow to redistribute the overwhelming power within Ishihara’s body, preventing the Empress from exploding. This action allowed Ishihara to strike the final blow against the Gods, ultimately leading to the rewriting of the universe.
Crimson Age
In the alternative timeline where Ishihara rules, Akemi’s path reflects her original struggle but with significant deviations.
The Search for Power
In this universe, The Wanderer (The Devil) has not yet made contact with Akemi. As a result, she remains without innate magical abilities. However, her iron will and relentless pursuit of strength have not wavered; she continues to search for a way to bridge the gap between herself and the mages of the world.
The Divine Copy
Deeply impressed by Akemi’s unwavering spirit during her ascension, the Goddess Ishihara created a perfect biological copy of Akemi. This duplicate serves within the Divine Guard, specializing in advanced medical techniques. She is responsible for treating and maintaining Ishihara’s angelic legions, acting as a supreme divine healer.
Future Destiny
The Igarashi Reunion
Reunited with her sister Hikari in this timeline, the two formed an unprecedented alliance. They trained together for years, blending Hikari’s magic with Akemi’s martial mastery. Eventually, Akemi challenged her father, Makoto Igarashi, to a final duel. Legend has it that she defeated him through pure skill alone, even without magic—though some whispers suggest she might have uncovered ancient magical artifacts during her travels.
The Obsession of Usli
In this timeline, Usli is very much alive, never having met his accidental demise. However, he has developed a bizarre, obsessive infatuation with his sister. He follows Akemi everywhere like a shadow, driven by a deluded “love” and a Fixation on her every move, much to her annoyance. It seems some family ties are as broken in this reality as they were in the last.
